Kathy Gilroy

This is a second career for me. I was a Social Worker for 27 years. I worked with DYFS. which was the states child protection agency. Thru those years I had been a guard at a detention center for teenaged boys and an investigator of abused children, I placed over 100 special needs and older children in permanent adoptive homes and then became an inspector of residential treatment facilities. Ultimately I was the supervisor of the foster care inspector bureau. I decided to start teaching in 2005 when my oldest child started Middle school. And I have been here ever since. I now teach Industrial Tech in the middle school. My daughter in a Lt. in the US Navy after attending Annapolis and Cambridge in England . My son, is a boat restorer in Rhode Island. At 20 he purchased his own home that, he has renovated by himself (mom helped) Life is GOOD!
