This is a second career for me. Ms. Gilroy was a Social Worker for 27 years. I worked with DYFS, which was the state's child protection agency. Through those years, Ms. Gilroy had been a guard at a detention center for teenage boys and an investigator of abused children, where she placed over 100 special needs and older children in permanent adoptive homes and then became an inspector of residential treatment facilities. Ultimately, Ms. Gilroy was the supervisor of the foster care inspector bureau. Ms. Gilroy decided to start teaching in 2005 when my oldest child started middle school and has been here ever since where I teach Industrial Technology. Ms. Gilroy has a daughter who is a Lt. in the US Navy after attending Annapolis and Cambridge in England and a son who is a boat restorer in Rhode Island. At 20 he purchased his own home that, he has renovated by himself (mom helped) Life is GOOD!
