Getting Started Early
Hillsborough Township Recreation offers a summer program for students which includes classes taught by some of our very own instrumental teachers. Starting in the summer is not required, but some students like to explore their instrument a little bit before September. If you take a summer class, our rental vendors will get your instrument to you to use over the summer!

You can sign up right away and select “instrument to be determined” or wait to sign up after the Auten Road Instrumental Music Department helps you determine the best instrument fit for you in May/June.
Unfortunately due to physical distancing, the recreation department's Summer Music Academy will not be able to provide lessons for beginner level students. We included the information here for families that may have students in grades 6-12. Please explore local music stores if you are interested in some start-up lessons before school starts!
