Class Parties

Class parties are limited to three during the school year (Winter Holiday, Valentine’s, and End of Year). Parents or volunteers must be cleared through the VIPS process. The designated party days are listed on the school calendar found at www.houstonisd.org/horn. 

Treats for Students for their Birthday!

There are no birthday celebrations/treats in the classroom. Birthday celebrations/treats will be held during the students' recess time, not at lunch. Balloons, flowers, ice cream, cakes, or goodie bags are not allowed as birthday treats. Some options are cookies, fruit, Rice Krispies treats, or cupcakes. Please note that we do not allow peanuts or items cooked in peanut oil. All food brought for a birthday must be enough for your child’s class. 

If you send invitations to a party for students, each student in the classroom needs to receive an invitation. If you will not be inviting all students, please plan to send the invitations in an alternative way.
