The Browning Springs Youth Services Center provides service to students through four core components to ensure students needs are meet. Below are the four core components and their guidelines.
Referrals to Health and Social Services
The goal of this core component is to improve the overall health and well-being of students through activities that support the Whole School, Whole Community, and Whole Child (WSCC) model, therefore increasing students' ability to succeed in school. This component works to remove physical/emotional health barriers to learning. This WSCC model support the whole child through ten components:

Family Engagement Community Involvement
Career Exploration and Development
The goal of this core component is to promote college and/or career readiness for all students by preparing them for future employment and successful transition into adult life through collaboration with school and community resources. This core component works to help students learn about possible future careers and college opportunities.
Substance Abuse Education and Counseling
The goal of this core component is to assist in the prevention of the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) and improve decision-making skills by educating students and families; and the reduction of ATOD use through coordination of counseling services and education. This core component works to provide alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention activities as well as provide services and activities that help give students and families access to alcohol, tobacco and other drug treatments.
Family Crisis and Mental Health Counseling
The goal of this core component is to increase self-management and coping strategies by assisting students and families with mental health needs and/or other crises through the identification and coordination of services (i.e. for grief, illness, bullying, incarceration, dating/domestic violence, loss of income, child abuse, etc.). This core component works to provide activities that help families access basic needs or other assistance when they have physical, emotional, or financial crises and to provide prevention activities to and assist students and families with social/emotion, behavioral and/or mental health concerns.
