Service Learning
Do you feel compelled to do something meaningful for those less fortunate? Do you want to impact your community in a positive way? Do you have aspirations to change the world through politics, law, or activism? If so, this project may be of the most interest to you. Service learning is very simply, learning through serving. There are many ways a student can impact their community based on what is important to them. Students may raise money to fund cancer research, clean up a park to combat littering, visit animal shelters to read to pets, start a canned food drive for the hungry, the list goes on and on.
The first step is to think about what or who you want to focus on. Is their something happenning in your neighborhood that you would like to change? Is there a marginalized group that you would like to support? What cause is important to you, your family, your school, or your community?
