Citing Sources

WHY DO I HAVE TO CITE MY SOURCES?

  1. To show your audience and teacher that you took the time to learn about your topic.

  2. To give your audience and teacher information about the sources you used.

  3. To avoid plagiarism (to steal or pass off the words or ideas of others as your own).

  4. To give credit to other authors, researchers, and experts.
