BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB
Celebrate your Hihimanu with Ho'okele's Birthday Book Club!
The Ho'okele Birthday Book Club is a gift-giving program that adds new books to our library collection for all students to enjoy. The Birthday Book Club is a wonderful way for families to celebrate a birthday, or commemorate another special occasion. Families choosing to participate are invited to select a gift book from our Ho'okele Library Wish List on Amazon. Once the book is received at Ho'okele, a bookplate honoring the student will be placed in the front of the book. This gift book provides enjoyment and learning for all Ho'okele students and is a lasting contribution to the school.
How does it work?
Our Ho'okele Book Club wish list is located on Amazon. Select the book you would like to purchase. The books are award winning books: Caldecott, Newbery, Nēnē, etc. Your book will ship directly to Ho'okele Elementary School. The book becomes a part of the permanent part of the Ho'okele Library collection for all current and future students.
Birthday Books may be donated during your child's birthday month or whenever it is convenient for you, including summer birthdays. A bookplate with the child’s name, picture, and birthday (or another occasion being celebrated) will be placed in the front cover of the book. The book will be shared with the child’s class and he or she will be the first to borrow the book
Please include a note with your online shipment so we know the following:
Family Name
Birthday Student Name
Teacher Name
**NOTE** If there is a specific book not on our Wish List that you would like to donate instead, please, before you purchase, email: angela_ramey@hookele.k12.hi.us
We can make sure to avoid duplicate copies and also ensure that the content is age appropriate for our library.
