Our goal is to make recycling accessible and easy for everyone in the building. We noticed this year the lack of recycles bins compared to trash bins in our school. As a group, we decided to change that. We've been working closely with our administration to get a number of bins put in around the school. We're also going to be selling plants in recycled pots from old bottles and other recycled containers.

Our group decided to pick more sustainable recycling as our issue not only because this is a worldwide issue but also because we notice it was also an issue in our schools. Not recycling not only affects our day-to-day lives even if we don't realize it. Some problems caused by people not recycling are climate change, increased pollution, damage to wildlife destruction of natural habitats, and many more. Roughly 5% of plastic waste actually recycled in the US alone and only about 68% of paper and cardboard are actually being recycled around the world. these numbers should be a lot higher and we decided we wanted to make a difference no matter how small.
