Tips on Naming Items in Portal & Searching

The name of items in the Portal is important because it's usable for searching the item List.* The search field can also search using the item IDs created by the portal (4 digits).

So when adding in items, particularly for products, we recommend using a structure like below so that you can search quickly any/all items using the identifier (SKU, EAN etc), brand, range, and shade names. Looks and other items usually don't require this because there are fewer of them.

If we name products like that, in any search bar in the Portal we could search any or using any part of of the following:

• 1234598765
• brand name
• range name
• shade name

*For displaying item names in applications, we recommend to NOT use the Portal name & description. Instead, use the display info section in Product Data Fields.
