Close Contact: Being <6ft of an infected person, for at least 15 min, or having shared utensils, starting from 2 days before the infected person became symptomatic or tested positive.

Cohorts: A cohort is a group of people with a common exposure. Cohorting is a way to help protect the spread of infection within a facility. Making small groups helps with containment, contact tracing and social distancing. If we have to go to smaller cohorts- we will make use of many other spaces on the campus. If a COVID case arises, only the infected cohort is quarantined. If a cohort is quarantined, that cohort will learn via distance-learning for the quarantine period.

Contact Tracing: Once someone has tested positive for Covid-19 positive contact tracing is an important way to track down others who are close contacts and are therefore required to quarantine in an effort to prevent potential exponential spread.

Containment: Multi-tiered approach to mitigate spread of the virus in school and keep our students/staff and their families safe. Will involve contact tracing, isolating those suspected or proven to have infection, cohorting of students, symptom screening, and personal protective equipment.

Hand Washing: First line of defense against the spread of illnesses. Routine washing incorporated into the daily schedule. Hand sanitizer available throughout campus.

PPE: Personal Protective Equipment. Face masks/face shields prevent both spread and contraction of the virus. Goggles, gowns, gloves used in scenarios of high transmission risk.

Prevalence/Positivity Rate: Prevalence is defined as the total number of cases in a given time in a given population. Positivity rate is the number of positive results divided by total tested.

Quarantine: Separating individuals who have had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case to determine whether they develop symptoms of the disease. Generally, a 14 day period, whether or not one tests negative.

Social Distancing: Six feet apart is recommended indoors and outdoors.

Temperature/Symptom Screening: All staff and students will be screened daily with infrared thermometers. Anyone with a temperature over 100 degrees, symptoms consistent with Covid-19 or exposure to Covid-19 will not be permitted on campus.
