Communal Responsibility CommitmenT

Dear Community of Devoted Day School Parents,

We need your help on and off campus!! We are so excited to have your children back in school but we can’t do it without you. Rest assured that we have prepared to continue to offer an outstanding Jewish educational experience to your children while doing the utmost to safeguard their health by employing the strategies of constant cleaning, social distancing, handwashing, and mask wearing throughout our school environment.

Our behavior impacts not only ourselves but those around us. Because health and safety are essential to our community, we ask all students, faculty, staff, and families to be mindful of the communal responsibility we have to each other.

  • This means keeping to all health and safety requirements on campus.

  • But, it also means following best practices off-campus, be it at home or beyond the home, to keep ourselves, our children, and others as protected as possible.

How we safeguard ourselves and others off-campus impacts the health and safety of all of us when we come together at school. We are hopeful and optimistic that by working together and following protocols and procedures that we can shepherd our schools and communities through this challenging time.

In this vein, we need your commitment to ensure all of our children and staff remain healthy throughout the school year. Specifically, we are asking you to commit, by signing the brief pledge below, to partner with us by endeavoring to fulfill parental responsibility of ensuring that my child maintains appropriate social distancing, washing hands, and masking wearing standards as we are maintaining at school when in public. If our entire campus based school communities and our families maintain this standard of safety, we will have drastically increased the odds of a healthy year ahead for our children.

Thank you for your partnership in this truly vital endeavor.

Communal Responsibility Commitment for 2020-2021

When each of us as individuals bears in mind this value of communal responsibility with regard to COVID-19 safety precautions, we make it possible to maximize our time together.

Guidance to Health and Safety Requirements Off-Campus (as per current CDC guidelines):

  1. If your child is not feeling well or has a fever, keep your child home until symptom/fever free for 48 hours without the use of medication

  2. If you or any of your family members test positive for COVID or are directly exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID (even if they are asymptomatic), you need to self-quarantine for 14 days (or if you are exposed to a person who potentially has COVID, you must quarantine until that person tests negative) and inform the school.

  3. Monitor that you and your children socially distance and wear masks when with others outside the members of your home

  4. Encourage and remind children to frequently hand-wash

  5. Not attend large gatherings
