In this capstone project for our Ecology unit, students are tasked with researching an animal species local and native to San Diego County, and applying their understanding of ecology and their experiences as an artist to create a "mind map". One major focus is how the work of ecologists can be used to create legislation to protect species and environments.
Essential Question: Who are the species that make San Diego County "The most biodiverse region in the continental United States"? What do ecologists need to know to help create laws and policies to protect nature?
