Our goal in this project is to learn molecular and cell biology by using microscopes and other biotechnology equipment. Students are able to share their learning and make meaning of the content by creating a cell that highlights major organelles and their functions (on the back) and a GIF explaining the process of mitosis. We end with a big exhibition where friends and families are invited to see our final projects!
Essential Question: What happens inside of a cell? How do we define a biomolecule?
Community Partner: Chelsea Virginia, local artist.
Resources:Â
Wet Labs using our microscopes
Cell Biology unit curriculum, lecture, notes etc.

An example GIF. Students have only 1 class period to create this stop motion GIF set to model mitosis. A hectic and exciting day!
