This is my mentor, Mrs. Rye. She teaches 3rd grade at Benchley Weinberger Elementary and is actually the mother of one of my former classmates and friends. Ms. Rye attended SDSU, pursuing a major in liberal studies and achieving her master's degree in education. She's been teaching at Benchley Weinberger since 2017 and plans on retiring. She is an incredible teacher with a great welcoming personality that makes me wish that all teachers were just like her.Â
Benchley Weinberger's community is very close-knit. All of the kids are very much independent and everyone helps each other when stuck. It's a very close community and the children are very much well-behaved. everyone of course learns at different paces and some need more help than others, I'm glad to be there to help provide the extra push that some of the children need. The photo depicts me helping a student with a math activity, he was struggling a bit and I taught him a method of addition to help add 2 large 3-digit numbers together to solve his problem.
