Both the company and I benefit from the internship. I contribute to the job and always try to put forth my best effort. The workers appreciate the things I do, such as helping clean up in the mornings or assisting in aligning and setting up pipes along the walls. I also gained a lot from this experience, as I learned just by observing and helping out when needed, while also asking questions and gaining experience.
This is the shower drain where we performed a 20 psi air test to check for leaks. The test can take up to three hours, but it did not pass. We need to tighten the connections and run the test again. We ran this process throughout the entire house to ensure it would pass city inspection. While this was happening, I installed pipe clamps and suspension pipe clamps to reduce movement and keep the pipes supported and ready for inspection.
I am thankful for my colleagues during my internship experience. They are very nice and understanding, allowing me to ask questions and providing clear explanations. They recognize that I am a student with little experience, yet they still include me in their projects and work, despite their responsibilities and tight schedules. I truly appreciate their support.I am also grateful for my mentor, who has always been understanding and allowed me to intern with them. What I truly appreciate is that, despite being the most occupied of them, he still takes the time to address my academic needs.
I was at a customer's house where we were hydrojetting their main drain. My coworker informed me that the issue was related to an iron fitting that needed to be replaced because it was old and decaying. This was seen from another problem with a leaking faucet, which was corroded and decaying from the inside, making it very fragile. But instead of replacing his iron fitting he just wanted the faucets replaced and the drain jeted. This kind of problem often occurs in plumbing when the homeowner prefers to replace the current damage rather than dealing with the source.
