Essential Questions
What can we learn from unsolvable puzzles?
What is a graph?
Can a mathematical graph tell us a story?
How are graphs used to analyze networks?
Mathematical models are common ways to apply mathematics to real-world problems. Graph theory can also be used to model networks and situations where different "paths", outcomes, and efficiency are possible.
Some applications include the traveling salesman, scheduling tournaments, modeling water distribution, animal migration, and more. Find something that interests you that can be modeled as a network of connections and relationships.
Given your application what does a path look like and what does it mean?
