Rights Respecting Schools Award

Invergarry Primary School are currently on the Bronze Award for the RRSA. We are working towards rights aware which is the silver award.

We will be concentrating on Article 31 this month which is: I have a right to relax and play .

Chloe's Rights talk

P5-7 had to choose a topic to do a speech on. Chloe chose to do hers on rights of the child. She has done a fantastic job and also has showed you our Rights Respecting wall in school.

P1-4 Assembly on Refugees

Primary 1- 4 have been learning about Refugees as their project work. This included looking at Rights of the child and why some children may not get the rights they are entitled to.

Gymnastics at Spean Bridge

The children choose what they would like to do for PE this term and one of their choices were PE.

The children only had one session to make these dances, we were working on flow, creativity and balance.

Parent's Club have produced a leaflet for parents about the RIght's of the Child.

Current Campaign

The children are going to be campaigning to get the road by the school put down to a 20mph zone at all times.  This will be covering article 12 - 

I have the right to be listened to and taken seriously

We are learning about Global and ethical trade in p5-7. This allows the children to think about Global issues and children's rights and responsibilities.

Lunch time clubs

The children have been setting up lunch time clubs.

Article 15 says - You have the right to set up or join a group and to meet together, provided this doesn’t stop others enjoying their rights
