Child Centred Responsive Planning
Responding to the observation and interpretation of the child's play, we facilitate child-initiated experiences with the adult extending the learning. Some adult-directed experiences will be planned throughout the year. We use the Education Scotland document Realising the Ambition to help with planning. Floorbooks
We listen to the children, identify their interests and begin recording the learning journey in a floorbook. Floorbooks are available for parents to browse and also contribute their ideas and comments.
Curriculum for Excellence
The 3-18 curriculum builds on the solid foundations developed in the critical years of pre-birth to three and links learning in ELC settings and primary schools. For most children, the Early level of the curriculum provides the basis for their learning experiences in early learning and childcare (ELC) and Primary 1.
