Art Goes To School
Have an artful year!
Our goal is to make fine art accessible to Haddon Heights students though parent engagement, games, and informal discussion.
What do we do?
Our main program takes place over 4 days in the spring at the three Haddon Heights Elementary Schools -- 2 days at GV, 1 day at 7th, and 1 day at Atlantic. On those days, we bring a portfolio of artwork to the schools and meet with the children during their art class to play games, learn about the art and artists, and generally have a good time. During this unprecedented school year, the AGTS program is still in development.
In a typical year, we meet approximately 5-6 times in the evenings from Oct-Mar. During these meetings, we will learn about the art and artists. We call these "art club" meetings. We do need committed volunteers to join these meetings to help prepare for the big program in the spring, but if you are not able to join some or all and would still like to participate, we can find a way to make it work! Because we work through the Haddon Art Goes to School chapter, our volunteers also have opportunities to present and learn in the Haddonfield School District.
