The Priory School, Hitchin is a highly successful and over-subscribed Post-16 provider, offering a state-of-the-art learning environment which promotes high aspirations, high expectations and academic success.

We cultivate an inclusive environment where all students are able to fulfil their academic potential, develop real-world skills and access a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.

Our Sixth Form students are exemplary ambassadors and role models for the rest of the school community, demonstrating our key school values of responsibility, respect and resilience. Last year, our graduating cohort achieved 14 A* grades and 18 A grades. Our average academic performance grade is a B-, above the national average. The Priory School has been ranked in the top 25% of Sixth Forms for value-added progress at A-Level.

We have high standards for those who choose to join us. In return we offer high-quality, engaging lessons taught by expert teaching staff alongside exceptional pastoral care. We also offer expert tailored careers advice and guidance, allowing our students to access the right post-18 pathways for their unique passions and talents. 

Our new Sixth Form study centre opened in 2023, providing a bright, dynamic environment for our community of mature learners. Students benefit from a wide range of facilities including a large study space, classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art teaching displays, a student kitchen area, vending and Lavazza coffee machines, and an outdoor area where students can study or spend their break and lunch times in the warmer months.
