If you have a passion for solving puzzles, decoding logic, and understanding how the world connects, our A-Level Computer Science program is built for you. This course isn't just about learning to code, it's about training your mind to tackle complex problems with confidence and creativity.
You will explore the deep theories behind computing while actively building your own programs. From software development to physical computing, we make sure abstract ideas become tangible realities you can interact with.
Component 01: Computer Systems An in-depth investigation into hardware architectures, system software, and data classification models. This module explicitly integrates a global perspective on the regulatory, moral, and cultural frameworks governing digital systems.
Component 02: Algorithms and Programming Focuses on the cultivation of high-level computational thinking. Students synthesise theoretical logic with practical programming structures to engineer algorithmic solutions to complex problems.
Component 03: Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) An extensive independent development project. Candidates apply cumulative technical expertise to architect, implement, and document a substantial software application based on an individual area of interest.
You will be assessed as follows:
Paper 1 – Computer systems – 40%
140 marks
2 hours and 30 minutes
Paper 2 – Algorithms and programming – 40%
