Jenna Dunbar, daughter of Jeff and Amy Dunbar, is a Senior at Hudson Falls High School, and is in her third year of the Science Research program. She enjoys competing in the New York State High School Rodeo Association. She is the president of the NYSHSRA, along with the Hudson Falls FFA. Jenna is studying “Survey of supplement use across various equine disciplines in the United States”.
Kenadie Hastings, daughter of Jonathan Hastings and Mary VanDerwerken, is a Senior at Hudson Falls High School. She is in her third year of the science research program. She is currently acting as treasurer of Student council and president of the National Honors Society. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and volunteering. Kenadie is researching “The effects of Bisphenol A on Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) spatial learning and memory across generations.”
Madelyn LaPan, daughter of Laura and Marc LaPan, is a Junior at Hudson Falls High School, and is in her second year of the Science Research program. Madelyn is a member of the New York State High School Rodeo Association. In her free time she rides her horse, dances at the Bolton Dance Academy and snowboards. Along with Science Research, Madelyn is an honors student and is a part of the National Honors Society. Madelyn’s proposed hypothesis of her study is Children in a smaller age range (7-10) will have more similar peer experiences compared to children in a larger age range (7-16), due to the maturity differences in the children and their peers.
MaryJane Mazurak, daughter of Jeffrey and Melissa Mazurak, is a Senior at Hudson Falls High School, and is in her third year of the Science Research program. In school she is the president of Student council and Science National Honors Society, as well as Secretary of National Honors Society. Out of school she is involved in competition dance and regularly volunteering for BBBS. She is researching “The Effects of Temperature Dependent Floral Emergence on Honey Bee Pollination Preferences and Patterns.”
