ELP Application
This will meet the additional graduation requirement
Placement Process
Step 1
Students will be recommended by teachers and counselors (grades, attendance, and discipline will be looked at)
Counselors will hand out the ELP Student Application and Career Interest document
Students will need to submit the ELP Student Application and Career Interest document to the College and Career Counselor (Mrs. Sandoval)
Student Application and Career Interest document will be sent to the ELP Coordinator
Interested students will then be put on a shared spreadsheet as interested before finding the site for them
Step 2
The ELP Coordinator will try to match the student's interest with a community partner
Once the match has been made, the ELP Coordinator will contact the student to give details about the placement
If the student is interested in the placement, the ELP Coordinator will contact the College and Career Counselor to follow up with the student regarding remaining paperwork as outlined in the "Counselor Checklist"
Step 3
Once all paperwork has been filled out, the student will need to attend a mock interview and essential skills training. The mock interview and essential skills training will take place on the student's school site
During the placement, the ELP Coordinator will visit the sites at least once for every placement
After the student has completed their placement time, they will need to contact their College and Career Counselor to fill out their ELP Student Evaluation form and turn in their timesheet.
After the student has completed their placement, they will turn in a presentation summarizing their experience with the ELP program. This will take place on the student's school site
Step 4
All documents submitted by the student, including the Evaluation form will be sent to the ELP Coordinator
