WHAT
IS
CCAP?
Dual Enrollment offers high school students the opportunity to enroll in college courses and receive college credit while pursuing their high school diploma. Courses are offered in a variety of disciplines and fields including general education and career pathway courses that align with local industry. Students can take these courses at the high school (CCAP) depending on the agreement between the high school and the college district. For CCAP classes all course fees are waived, saving money for the student, while preparing them for the rigor of college.
Dual Enrollment class are open to all 10th-12th grade OHHS students however some courses may have age/grade restrictions as set by Victor Valley College. Please refer to individual course detail for more information. (9th grade students in their second semester of 9th grade may be considered)
Limited to enrolling in a maximum of CCAP 11.5 units for Fall/Spring or 8 units for Summer/Winter.
I will only be enrolled for course(s) that have been recommended by my school principal/designee.
I must submit a new Dual Enrollment form for every new semester I wish to attend until I graduate from high school.

INFORMATION FOR THE PARENTS
Dual Enrollment students are treated like regularly admitted college students.
I understand that:
My child is exposed to an educational environment designed for the adult learner, which may involve topics that may be considered controversial or offensive.
I will not have access to my child’s records (registration status, grades, etc.) without his/her written consent.
Educational privacy rights transfer to the student once they enroll in a college. (Ed.Cd. 49061)
All college coursework and grades become a part of the student’s official college academic history and transcript.
These grades will not be changed or erased.
Poor grades can have a far reaching effect, future admission to college or university of choice, eligibility for financial aid, etc.
Student is expected to meet all deadlines, classes must be dropped within the stated deadlines.
Attendance is required, but not monitored. No one will call if the student misses class.
Step 1: Complete a VVC Application for the term you want to attend (VIDEO THAT WALKS YOU THROUGH THE APPLICATION PROCESS)
Step 2: After 48 hours you should receive a Welcome Email from VVC with your VVC ID#, Username and password information. Log in, click on Web Advisor and complete the VVC Online Orientation and Placement Survey.
Step 3: Complete CCAP Form LINK to instructions (VIDEO THAT WALKS YOU THROUGH THE CCAP FORM)
Step 4: Help your parents electronically sign the CCAP Form (Link to Instructions)
Step 5: Receive confirmation from Mrs. Sandoval that you have registered for the course

ART 104 (3.0 UNITS) FILM AS AN ART FORM
Film as a form of art and its construction as a communicative expression of global culture, politics, literature and gender will be studied. Important films will be viewed that address these topics.

HIST 118 (3.0 UNITS) HISTORY OF U.S. FROM 1876
A survey of the history of the United States from 1876 to the present. The course will focus on economic, political and social history in order to understand the causal factors that created the United States. Gender and ethnic history will be examined in light of the development of the United States and how diverse groups contributed to the historical reality of the United States.

ETH 102 (3.0) INTRODUCTION TO AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES
This course provides a study of African American culture and heritage from the 1600s to the present. It analyzes the economic, political, social, artistic, and intellectual elements of the African American community. The course also explores concepts such as racialization, the intersection of class and gender, and liberation while paying particular attention to the significant impact that African Americans have had on American culture as a whole.
