Admission, continued enrollment, and successful completion of the Hertford County Health Science Academy require students to meet key expectations in three areas: Academics, Discipline, and Volunteer Service. Students must maintain strong academic performance, uphold exemplary behavior and disciplinary standards, and actively participate in volunteer service to develop leadership and community engagement skills. These requirements ensure that students are well-prepared for future careers in health sciences while demonstrating commitment to excellence and professionalism.
All Hertford County HSA students must maintain a weighted GPA of no less than 3.0.
Students who are at risk of a GPA falling below 3.0 will receive one semester on probationary status to raise their GPA.
Failure to raise a GPA to 3.0 at the end of one semester will result in removal from the Academy.
All Hertford County HSA students must maintain a clean disciplinary record.
Out-of-school suspensions will result in immediate removal from the Academy
Repeated ISS assignments will result in probationary status.
Academy students on probationary status may not be able to participate in field experiences.
All Hertford County HSA students must complete 25 hours of volunteer service per year.
All Hertford County HSA students must complete a cumulative total of 100 hours by April of their senior year.
