Message from Your Coordinator

Reflecting on the incredible journey of our inaugural year, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride. Launching the Hertford County Health Science Academy with the unwavering support of Hertford County Public Schools and ECU Health was the fulfillment of a long-held dream. It allowed me to extend my expertise beyond the classroom and into a larger learning space—one dedicated to preparing students for diverse careers in healthcare while rooted in a mission to give back to eastern North Carolina.

Now, as we step into our second year, that dream is growing, evolving, and thriving.

I am beyond excited to welcome a brand-new batch of future healers to our academy! Year two brings an era of new growth, opportunities, and experiences that will push our students to expand their horizons.

Our core mission remains unchanged: to see this academy flourish by reaching students who are deeply passionate about making a difference in the medical field. But more than that, I want our students to remain invested in their community, to give back to Hertford County, and to play an active role in its future success. Seeing our students learn today so they can serve, heal, and lead right here at home tomorrow remains my driving force.
