Network Account

Network Accounts are created by Derry Township School District. These accounts let the students log into district computers, email, and many other services sponsored by DTSD. The account consists of a username and a password. The username will be defined as the student's first inital and their last name or first three initials and their last name.

Example: John Doe - jdoe OR joedoe

School Email Account

All secondary students in grades 6-12 have a Derry Township School District email account for school use.

To access your email account, use the following link: https://mail1.hershey.k12.pa.us

Log in with your network username (example: jdoe) Enter your normal network password as your password. Next you will need to choose a language and time zone. (Choose UTC-5:00 Eastern Time). Your school email should only be used for educational purposes. If you need password remediation please talk to a classroom teacher during the school day. If you wish to opt out of school email please contact Dave Sweigert or Traci Landry.

Home Access

Overview

Derry Township School District's Home Access Center (HAC) allows parents to access their child’s report card grades (grades 6-12), class assignments, attendance, and other general student information over the Internet.

Home Access Center

To access the information on your child(ren) during the school year, log on to HAC with your individual username and password. An individual login is provided to all parents/guardians recorded in our Student Information System.

This security feature will prevent unauthorized access to the system as well as secure access to personal information.

Please understand that many factors affect the teacher’s ability to post grades and assignments in a timely fashion: the length and complexity of the test or assignment, as well as other responsibilities that require a teacher’s time.

*Note that the new version of HAC defaults to a 'Quick' view which only shows assignment scores and total points. If you would like to see grade percentages then you will need to click on the FULL View button as shown below.

The HAC Family App is here!

The District is now offering a new family app for the Home Access Center. Parents and students will be able to access all HAC information through the new app.

At your fingertips you will have access to your calendar, schedules, grades, classwork, report cards and other important information. This User Guide will help you to understand the Family App (*Fees, Activities, and Transportation are not currently used in DTSD HAC).

CANVAS - Our District Learning Management System

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application or Web-based technology used to plan, implement, and assess a specific learning process. Many teachers use learning management systems as a way to post class agendas, give assignments, provide links to resources, and for class discussions. Canvas is our common LMS in grades 6-12. Students login at https://hersheyk12.instructure.com with their Network username and password.

Google Apps for Education

What is Google Apps for Education?

You will be prompted to change your password the first time you log-in. The password that you create must be at least 8 characters long, have one capital, and one number. To access Derry Google Apps, use the following url: https://docs.google.com/a/hershey.k12.pa.us/#home To access your account through the general Google Apps sign-in page, you will have to remember to use your username plus the ending “@hershey.k12.pa.us”
