This page will enable us to share common understandings of the vocabulary associated with student-centered learning.

Student-centered learning: student-centered learning is a combination of personalized learning and competency-based learning.

Personalized learning: learning customized to help each student succeed

Competency-based learning: learning that requires students to demonstrate mastery of a given subject

Blended learning: learning that combines traditional classroom instruction with online learning.

Traditional classroom learning: learning that takes place in a classroom with all students present with the teacher each day

Online learning: learning that occurs entirely online
