Hello, I am Lana Koelling. I am excited for another year in the FACS Department and FCCLA Adviser position at Hermann High School! 

This is my (13th) year teaching. I have a Masters in Professional Studies with a Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Administration from Missouri State and B.S. FACS Education and B.S. Family Studies from SEMO. I am a National Restaurant Association Certified Secondary Food Service Educator, Certified ServSafe Instructor/Proctor for food safety, Hospitality Management Instructor & Guest Service Gold Certified and Red Cross First Aid CPR AED Instructor. 

I find myself teaching about what I'm living lately.  FACS coursework provides student opportunities to develop skills, attitudes, and behaviors needed to balance family life, work life, and careers in family consumer sciences and human services. As the proud mother of Kolt (9), Kade (7) and Stepmother to Lexi (21). I'm cooking lots of meals, guiding the kids towards positive decisions, and making sure all their wants and needs don't break our bank! 

My true passion for my profession comes from my love for the organization that goes with it. FCCLA and the young adults I have gotten to work with give me the motivation to come to work with a smile everyday. I cannot wait to join a new group of leaders who will no doubt accomplish great things in the Hermann community!
