Partners Club Info
The Partners Club brings middle school students and physically/intellectually disabled students together to provide sports training for Special Olympics, Adapted Field Day, and to spend additional time together enjoying other social and recreational activities in the school and community. The club enables middle school students the opportunity to understand and appreciate the strengths and differences of each other as individuals. A bond of friendship and respect is developed and maintained throughout their middle school years. Partner members also benefit by learning the personal rewards and responsibilities that come from helping their peers with special needs.
If you are interested in joining Partners Club, please stop by Room 209 (Mrs. Wallis’ Room) to pick up club expectations and information. References and essays for membership are due by September 13, 2024 - NO EXCEPTIONS. Only 30 students will be selected. We will post the list of selected Partner’s along with a reminder of the meeting dates on September 23, 2024 outside of Room 209. The first meeting is October 1st at 8:30 in room 209. The meeting dates will always be posted outside of our door. If you are chosen as a Partner, there will be a $15 club fee.
We are currently accepting applications for students to be a part of the Ola Middle School SGA. The purpose of the OMS Student Government Association (SGA) is to forge a partnership between students and faculty, staff and administration.
The application and additional information can be found on the SGA website: Ola Middle SGA
All applications are due by August 16th.
Is your child motivated by maintaining high grades? Are they a model student? If so, then they should join OMS's Beta Club. We will be hosting our first Beta meeting on August 29th at 7:30 AM in the chorus room. Announcements in the mornings and after school will inform your students of the requirements and proper paperwork required to join or maintain their membership. If you have any questions regarding this club or its expectations, please reach out to mr. Barfield. (zachary.barfield@henry.k12.ga.us)
The Robotics club is a competitive robotics program made up of 6th-8th grade students who want to dive deeper into the world of robotics. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Atchison, Mrs. Kimball or Mrs. Peterson for the robotics club application beginning Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Welcome back, OMS! We are so excited to have our readers back in the media center.
This year, we will have monthly and semester-long reading challenges. For the semester challenge, students have a reading goal of 1800 minutes. This would be 1800 pages between August 1- December 15. For this month's monthly challenge, it is the HCS Back to School 2024 Challenge. We use the Beanstack app to track their reading (located on the Chromebook's launchpad). Students will be trained in how to use Beanstack.
Congratulations to our students who completed the summer reading challenge.
Please check out our Media Center webpage for more information.
