EdTech RVA '17!
Not only do I want to share my learning and experiences with others, I work to empower and encourage my teachers to do so. For the past three years, I have been supported by my principal and the Department of School Improvement Director, Steve Castle to send a handful of Wilder teachers to EdTech RVA - a regional educational technology conference.
This year, two of Wilder's top notch teachers present their knowledge of creating a fair classroom using Schoology. After the conference, we get together to share what we learned and make a plan to implement our new learning and share with our peers.

"Creating the Collaborative Classroom" Collaboration with Brooke Carter, ITRT
Think about the last good professional discussion you had. As educators, we crave opportunities to have professional conversations and work in small groups to increase our skills and, ultimately, the achievement and engagement of our students. So why are we hesitant to design spaces and learning opportunities that offer those same experiences to our students? Redefining and redesigning your classroom culture can be scary, but research shows learning environments structured as collaborative spaces where students can brainstorm, work in small groups, and receive direct facilitation from the teacher can do wonders. Ready for a new way of thinking about your classroom? START HERE!
