Reflection
I constantly reflect and ask my teachers what can I do better to support their growth. Each Marking period, I had my teachers give me feedback on their experience with Schoology, how the training was going and what they needed. Click each below to see the survey results.
SCHOOL - UH - GEE! But spelled, Schoology.
Our district is not entering year three of implementing this new learning platform. In developing my plan, I wanted my teachers to focus on the why behind the teacher using the tool and how it would change their instruction. My coaching plan offered several whole school professional development opportunities. To build some capacity however, our 7th grade and PE/Health teachers, dug deeper into learning this tool by participating in a targeted coaching plan which included peer to peer observations and feedback as well as access to Schoology coaches to develop lessons and get support.
HCPS Literacy Days - Instructional Coaching Project School Year 2015-2016
L. Douglas Wilder Middle School and Fairfield Middle School
This project was a collaborative effort between Advanced Learning Partnerships, the HCPS ELA Specialist and the Department of Instructional Technology. The goal was to provide a year long coaching approach which included job embedded PD to ELA teachers to support student achievement in weak areas as shown in SOL data. During the course of the year, myself and a consultant coached teachers in strategies that addressed these weak areas. We worked diligently with teachers at several schools that had shown weaknesses in the same areas.
Through this model we hoped to achieve:
