At GCSE, we study the AQA Religious Studies A syllabus with a focus on Christianity and Islam (as the most practiced by our students). We take in an in-depth look at the beliefs and practices of these religions and evaluate their relevance to modern living. We also have a more broad study of a variety of themes including; relationships and families, life issues, war and peace and human rights and social justice. You will build on the skills and knowledge that you developed in Key Stage 3 and be able to confidently demonstrate knowledge and understanding of different religious beliefs and practices. You will also develop the skills of justifying your responses with evidence from data or sources of religious authority like the Bible and the Qur’an. By the end of the course you should be confident in your views and be able to articulate them clearly and respectfully.
