The year is officially started and busy! Make sure to check out our game highlights below. We try to give recaps of all of our events at Harwood, so that even if you cannot attend, you will know what is happening!
Attendance is one of the most important factors in your student’s success. Every day in class matters, and we want to recognize students who make being at school a priority.
This month, we’re launching our “Don’t Miss Class to Miss Class!” attendance incentive. Students who have perfect attendance for the month will earn the opportunity to attend a special Faculty vs. Student Volleyball Game during the school day.
Our first pep rally was one for the books! The band, the cheerleaders, the volleyball teams, the football teams, the gymnasts.... we were all feeling that Blackhawk pride!
Teacher of the Month- Mr. Martell- sponsored by the Guild group and Moss Family Craft House.
This month our lounge was adopted by Cynthia Sanchez from Kona Ice and Travelin' Toms. Thank you for stocking us with coffee, snacks and treats!
Congratulations to our students of the month! See pictures below.
The Black and Blue Food Drive will begin September 8th. Help a great cause by bringing canned goods or cash (that goes to the food pantry)!
Fun Friday is tomorrow! Students can buy snacks from PTA after school.
Please read the expectations for students at Pennington Field.
September 14th- Official College Colors Day- We encourage your student to go ALL out!

Concession Stand for volleyball games
All students have now received their school-issued student ID and grade-level lanyard. As part of our campus safety procedures, students are required to wear their ID around their neck and visible at all times while on campus.
Lanyards are color-coded by grade level:
7th Grade: White lanyard
8th Grade: Orange lanyard
9th Grade: Black lanyard
The color-coded lanyards serve several important purposes. They help staff quickly identify students, determine where students should be located throughout the school day, and support the safe and orderly movement of students across campus. In the morning, the lanyard color also helps identify which courtyard students should report to when they are not attending tutorials or eating breakfast in the cafeteria.
For students who ride the bus, the student ID also serves as their bus tag and is used when entering and exiting the bus.
Student IDs and grade-level lanyards are an important part of our overall campus safety measures. Students who are not wearing their ID and appropriate lanyard are considered out of dress code. Students should arrive each day with their ID properly displayed around their neck.
If you lose your ID a replacement can be purchased in the office. IDs $3, lanyard $1, HJH lanyard $2.
