Week 9 brought us the first step of our band fundraiser, uploading contacts! Students went through the process of getting the app, setting up accounts, and adding contacts to their account which will be used next week to gain donations! Students have through next Thursday to complete their first goal of 25+ contacts uploaded. Parents can help out by adding them through the "parent guardian share" option. We are hoping for another successful year of fundraising so we can give it right back to these awesome students!
Band fees are past due! Payments can be made on School Cash online or by Cash or Check. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns about fees.

Work with your band student to upload 25 contacts to their Raise 365 app! Our fundraiser kicks off with donations on 10/17, having 25 contacts or MORE will ensure success!
Beginner band students have selected their section songs to showcase their skills at our Debut Fall concert on Tuesday! Students were given the handout shown here with details about their upcoming concert, they should be giving you this paper so you also have the details! We hope you will join us at their debut concert to see all they have learned in such a short time, bring your family and friends!
Woodwind and Brass students should be continuing to use Make Music to submit lines from their Essential Elements book, these are not just grades but can help them earn their Band Olympian medal for this six weeks! Students who earn gold medals are featured on our wall of honor!
Questions to ask your beginner:
Are you ready to perform your section song at the concert?
Have you submitted any lines on Make Music?

This week we worked to push closer to performance tempos on our concert pieces. Students should practice with a metronome set to 120-140 depending on the song! If they have difficult measures they can't play yet they can always slow back down before going performance tempo. We are still working toward our goal of practicing 3+ days a week! We have just 5 rehearsals left until our Fall Concert - you should hear our 2 pieces at home.
Questions to ask your band student:
Have you submitted either Heroes or Dark Star yet?
What is the next scale you plan to pass off?

In Symphonic band this week, all students had the opportunity to perform a portion of their technical etude for the class. Playing their audition material in front of people is a great way to overcome those pesky nerves and get better at performing as a soloist. We have just 5 rehearsals until our Fall Concert, we are working diligently in rehearsal to polish our pieces! You should hear our 3 pieces at home.
Questions to ask your band student:
