Private Lesson Information

The private lesson program is the absolute most important factor in improving the quality of individual musicianship and thus the band program in general. Parents are highly encouraged to consider private lessons for their child. Double Reed students are required to take lessons due to the specialty nature of their instrument. To experience the optimum amount of success, students should start lessons early and continue throughout the year. If financial concerns are preventing a student who is wanting private lessons from getting them, please contact a band director. In some cases, scholarship money may be available.

We maintain a staff of qualified private instructors available on each instrument. These teachers have been approved by the BJH Directors and have made music instruction their profession. Private instructor contact info is available below.

1. Students will have one lesson per week. Cost of each lesson is $22.00. Lessons will be scheduled before and after school and, in some cases, during the student’s band class. 

2. Lessons are scheduled to accommodate the parents’, students’, and teachers’ schedules. 

3. Payment for private lessons will be made directly to the private instructor according to his/her policy.
