All 7th and 8th grade students returning to the BJH Band program next year received a packet of pep tunes that we will learn at band camp in preparation for pep rallies and football games! This is a LOT of music, so we encourage students to play as much as they can before our band camp in July. We encourage one song a week throughout the summer, marking what they don’t understand, and listening to recordings where possible!
Listen and practice using the tracks below!
The Horse - Set this one to 75% playback for our performance tempo. Where they spell Huskies, we spell BRONCOS!
Seven Nation Army - Your music has parts blacked out, this version will be longer. Set to 75% for our performance tempo
Summer lessons are a great way for your student to stay on top of their playing, improve over the summer, and get ahead on their pep tune music! Many lesson teachers are offering virtual lessons or lessons in person at their homes, or schools. Below is the information to sign up for lessons!
We are SO excited to get back to work making music with you all! Our week long band camp is a perfect way for our students to get back into playing, ease back into the school year, and learn lots of music while having fun with their band family! We will play new songs each day to prepare for the school year and take breaks to play games, get to know each other, and have snacks. It is the expectation that every student returning to the BJH Band will be at this band camp. On the last day we will join up with the other HEB Junior Highs at NRH2O, see info below! Please let us know if you have any questions!
