All 7th and 8th grade students returning to the BJH Band program next year received a packet of pep tunes that we will learn at band camp in preparation for pep rallies and football games! This is a LOT of music, so we encourage students to play as much as they can before our band camp in July. We encourage one song a week throughout the summer, marking what they don’t understand, and listening to recordings where possible!
Listen and practice using the tracks below!
The Horse - Set this one to 75% playback for our performance tempo. Where they spell Huskies, we spell BRONCOS!
Seven Nation Army - Your music has parts blacked out, this version will be longer. Set to 75% for our performance tempo
Summer lessons are a great way for your student to stay on top of their playing, improve over the summer, and get ahead on their pep tune music! Many lesson teachers are offering virtual lessons or lessons in person at their homes, or schools. Below is the information to sign up for lessons!
We are SO excited for band camp this year! Our week long band camp is a perfect way for our students to get back into playing, ease back into the school year, and learn lots of music while having fun with their band family! We will play new songs each day to prepare for the school year and take breaks to play games and get to know each other. Check out the dress up days listed below!
Students will meet July 27-31 from 9am-Noon in the BJH cafeteria. The front doors will open at 8:00am on Monday and 8:30am the remainder of the week, please do not plan to enter or exit through the band hall. If you need your school owned instrument you must arrive before 8:30 to pick up your instrument, make sure you bring your supplies. Please arrange for your student to be picked up promptly at Noon.
Monday: PJ Day - roll out of bed and head to band camp!
Tuesday: Twin Day - match with your band bestie(s).
Wednesday: Jersey Day - rep your favorite sports team!
Thursday: Section Color War - which section does it best? Dress head to toe in your section colors (colors decided on Monday). We will take our annual band camp photo on this day - go all out!
Friday: BJH Spirit Day - wear your BJH Band shirt for our performance.
Band camp is a required activity and it is important that your student participates! If your student is unable to participate please let me know as soon as possible. If your student is
involved with athletics, Bell Band or has other conflicts, we would love for students to share their time (i.e. come late or leave early, if needed).
What does your student need to bring?
Instrument - in good playing condition
If you received your school owned instrument in June, please make sure to bring it. If you have not received your school owned instrument, it will be available on the first day of camp!
Summer music packet (handed out at the end of the school year), we will have extra copies available for those that need it.
