Week 16 - Holiday Season!

We are so back! We had a very productive and fun week kicking off our Holiday performance season! Beginners had their first full band rehearsal, Symphonic played their winter tour tunes at our holiday pep rally, and jazz band brought cheer to the City of Bedford at the annual tree lighting! We are so grateful to be able to share music with our campus and community. We are getting closer to our final performance of the semester, the Winter Concert at LD Bell! All students should be working with Make Music to pass off their concert pieces and practicing them at home. Encourage your student to finish these assignments up this week, they cannot be submitted after the concert is complete!

Beginner Band

Our beginner band had their first beginner rehearsal yesterday and it was awesome! It is so exciting to put our 8 beginner classes together for the first time to hear them play.

Info about our required rehearsals and Concert on Wednesday, December 18th and be found here.

Beginners have one remaining required after school rehearsal to prepare for the Winter Concert, this is a graded event!

Thursday, December 12th from 3:45-4:30pm

We are halfway through the six weeks, how many Olympian lines have you done? (31, 34, 36, 38, 42)

Concert Band

Coming back from break Concert Band has had a great week of improving 2 of our 3 pieces for the winter concert! We will continue refining the 3rd piece next week. Students should have passed off a cut from each of our pieces on either Smart Music or canvas at this point. Anything marked as a 1 in the gradebook is something that still needs to be made up. If your average is low, get assignments turned in at home or come in for morning or afternoon tutorials! Both directors are available before and after school for anything you need help with!

Symphonic Band

December is a FUN month for our Symphonic band! We had our first Christmas performance at the BJH Pep Rally yesterday and the kids did a great job spreading some Holiday Cheer. 🎅 Everyone's favorite day of the year, the Elementary Winter Tour is coming up next week on Friday, December 13th - check out the info here.

Jazz Band

On Friday night, Jazz Band performed at the City of Bedford Christmas tree lighting! We braved the cold and a little rain to bring holiday cheer to the great city of Bedford! Thank you to our family, friends, and community who stayed late to see us perform.

Join us this Wednesday at BJH for our 3rd annual Jazz Christmas cafe! Enjoy snacks, hot coco, and solo performances by our BJH Jazz members! This is a cash only fundraising event.

Soloists will need to practice along with their track with Mrs. Davis this week, come before school during lunch, or after school!
