Learning in the IB PYP is organised into six transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry, one for each of the six themes.
Each unit lasts approximately 5-6 weeks.
All units culminate in a summative assessment task. The summative allows students to showcase the knowledge, conceptual understanding, and skills they have developed throughout the unit.
There are 6 subject groups outlined in the IB PYP Curriculum Model.
Islamiyat is not an IB subject, but it is mandated by the local educational authorities.
All subjects are used to explore the Central Idea, transcending the lines between different subject areas and disciplines.
Year 5 students create their last unit themselves as part of the PYP Exhibition.
