Breathing & Relaxation

We want to teach children to breathe and take deep breaths when they are in the "fight, flight, or freeze" mode, "but it's more than 'just breathing' that we need to teach. Children may need a little help figuring out how to properly breath and to develop strategies to help them out of a heightened sense of stress. Breathing helps get more oxygen into our bloodstream, opening up your capillaries. It has a physical effect on your body to help you calm down and lower stress.
