Year 9 transition year

The aim of the year 9 transition year is to allow students to experience what Media Studies at GCSE involves. Students will not have studied the subject before and this is an opportunity to gain skills and get a taste of what the Media Studies is and how the course works.

Students will cover the same topics as they would at GCSE but with different texts, allowing them to learn the key skills for success at GCSE. They will learn the secrets behind what the media produces and how it has an impact on their lives. They will also have the opportunity to create their own media texts, learning how to use different programs and follow a brief.
