Assessment/examinations (GCSE - Years 9,10 and 11)

The component 1 internal assessment forms 60% of the final GCSE grade. This is delivered through a range of Graphic Communication briefs over Years 10 and 11. Strong aspects of a students work from Year 9 can also be encorperated into a students Year 10 sketchbook portfolio. Component 2, is an external assessment which is set every January. Pupils sit this component in Year 11. This is the exam element of the course and is worth 40% of the final GCSE grade. However, this is a practical exam which will involve creating a portfolio of work and a final outcome.
