However, please seek approval and check with the respective heads / budget owners the amount of funds available, before confirming the purchase.
Teachers may select materials when they visit bookshops. It is advisable not to make direct purchases unless you are sure that the titles are not available at the library. For large orders, it is recommended that you request for a list of the titles ordered to be faxed or emailed to the librarian prior to the purchase, to avoid duplication of titles.
Teachers can make a request to the librarian to source for and purchase resources. Please contact the librarian for help if required.

Directors of Consortium (DCs) and education consultants (PCs/SCs) are given the approved budget for the year in January.
Teachers in the various consortiums are informed of this budget by their respective heads.
DCs / PCs / SCs are kept informed of their monthly expenditure to ensure that there are sufficient funds before the next purchase is made.
DCs / PCs / SCs are consulted before any materials are purchased by the library.
Teachers are given the autonomy to select materials for their respective subject areas. However, please check with the respective heads the amount of funds available, before confirming the purchase.
If materials are purchased during the book displays in school, the usual practice would be for the book suppliers to fax a list of orders made, for confirmation by the library. This is to cut down on the duplication of titles ordered.
Teachers are allowed to select materials when they visit bookshops. However, if it is a large order, it is recommended that you request for delivery of items directly to the library. A list of titles ordered should also be faxed to the library, prior to purchase so as to reduce duplication again.
Avoid making direct purchases unless you are sure that the titles are not available at the library. Recommendations can be made to the library, through SC/Library, who will in turn make the orders for you.
Corporate membership with Kinokuniya - Kinokuniya gives a 10% discount on books purchased through the corporate account. Teachers would have to produce their Staff card / Name card before the orders can be made.
