When is my pay day (for direct staff)?

For your first pay, it would be at the end of the month. Subsequently, pay day will be on the 12th of each month. Pay day for the month of Chinese New Year (CNY) would be brought forward if the CNY is before the 12th of the month.

What happens to my MOE connect plan when i joined HCI as direct staff?

If you join HCI as direct staff from MOE without a break in service, MOE will encash all the balances in your connect plan. The encashment may take a few months to be processed by MOE after your joining date in HCI. HCI will have similiar connect plan in place for permanent trained teachers (i.e. not contract teachers). The schedule of payout for connect plan will be the same as MOE connect plan with the exception that for the next 1 to 2 scheduled payouts may be reduced due to the advancement of cash that you received from MOE encashment of your connect plan balances when you join HCI as direct staff.

Would I receive Performance Bonus (PB) for the work done in the year before I join HCI from MOE?

If you join HCI after 30 April of the calendar year, you would have received your PB payout for the work done in the previous year from MOE directly.

If you join HCI wef 1 Jan of the year, without any break in service, you will receive PB from MOE through HCI. MOE will inform HCI on how much you are entitled and HCI will pay you accordingly. However, payment would usually be later, around June/July instead of the usual scheduled date March, depending on how soon MOE provides the information to HCI.

For those who join between 1 Jan and 30 April, PB for work done will be paid to you on case to case basis by the school as MOE would not be paying you PB.
