Financial assistance is available to needy students. Financial schemes such as the Hwa Chong JC Alumni Bursary, Goldbell Bursary and other scholarships and bursary awards are in place to help students with financial difficulties. No deserving student will be deprived of a place in Hwa Chong due to financial reasons.
Application forms for Financial Assistance may be obtained from the General Office.
Students who require financial assistance at any point in time can always approach the Senior Consultant or Education Consultant of their Faculty or their Civics Tutors for help. The details of the various bursary schemes will be announced as and when application begins. You may also approach Principal Consultant/Faculty, Mr Teh Chee Siong, for advice and help.
Eligibility Criteria and Benefits
Eligibility Criteria - Student is a Singapore Citizen, and meets one of the income criteria shown in the table below.
Tenure of Bursary - All Independent Schools (IS) Bursary cases approved will be valid till Dec of the year. Fresh applications will have to be submitted for each academic year.
Effective Month – Student can apply any time of the year. The effective month will be the month the application is approved. There will be no backdating of effective month.
* The total fee subsidy received by a MOE Scholarship recipient granted the ISB is capped at full fee subsidy less government school and standard miscellaneous fees. Subsidised amount rounded up to the nearest 10 cents.
