ECG Counselling Appointment Booking

Hello! Pause for a minute... before you book a slot, please read the following:

Duration 

A typical duration for an ECG Consult is 30 minutes.

How does the booking work ? 

All consultations are strictly on appointment basis and require at least 48 working hours notice. If you book appointments on Friday evenings - Sunday for the  Monday slot, this appointment will be cancelled. One student can only have one active appointment with one counsellor at a time. If students book more than 1 active slot, the later one will be cancelled.

How about Alums?  

Alums can only book ECG consultations from 16 Jan - 20 March or 1 June - 30 Aug. Therefore, do make sure you maximise the ECG services during your JC time. 

ECG Counselling is available during 9am-4pm, Monday - Friday. You may email us your queries if you are unable to book an appointment.

What does a typical session consist of ? 

It depends on you !  Typically, we help guide students in the following:

• Advise and explore suitable courses (university advising) and careers based on your personality, interests, values and skills

• Offer insights into various career fields and courses

• Discuss strategies and tools for independent information gathering

• Recommend resources and share our knowledge and experiences

What does it not consist of ? 

• We are not customer service officials and we cannot give you quick solutions to your problems. 

• We cannot tell you which course, school and career are the best for you as these are very subjective. What we can do is guide you with some activities for your independent research, provide some options and ideas to help you with your decision-making.

What to prepare before the consult ? 

• Complete the relevant SkillsFuture Assessments. 

• If you are unsure what career paths to take, take some time to do the Occupational Daydreams Activity. 

• If you already have a course or career path in mind and looking for advice on universities, you may think about doing the University and Course Comparison Table before the consultation.

• Share the Table via Google Sheet/Google Doc with your Counsellor prior to your session.
