THE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
Sale Creek is a rural community located 30 miles north of Chattanooga, Tennessee, a city with a metropolitan population of approximately 300,000. Our student body represents a wide variety of socio-economic groups including those families who operate small farms and those who parents are teachers, engineers and other professionals. Although students are primarily Caucasian, other races represented include African-American, Asian, Native American and Hispanic. Our school body encompasses grades 6-12 with a total enrollment of 600.
THE MARKING SYSTEM AND GRADE DISTRIBUTION
A=90-100 B=80-89 C=70-79 D=60-69 F=68 or below
Grade Point Average (GPA) is determined by converting the semester numerical grades to a 4.0 scale with A=4, B=3, C=2 D=1, and F=0. Numeric GPAs are weighted with the addition of 3 points for Honors classes and 5 points for Dual Enrollment classes. Our average ACT score for all grade levels is 19.8, an increase of nearly a full point over last year!
