877 Haitians and 44 Americans died.
Haitian people don't have sufficient infrastructure for travel and are vulnerable to future disasters.
In this map, each red mark is a building, and the houses have no addresses. The houses were mapped using OSM HOT. Red Bank mapped a total of 1999 building on the Coast of Haiti, which helped first responders find more survivors before the hurricane hit the island.
15,000 people were displaced and 400 homes destroyed. Travel was made difficult due to the large amount of destroyed roads and bridges. Phone lines were cut making communication much harder.
In the United States, severe flooding and damaged infrastructure caused a estimated 2.25 billion dollars in damages.
