Your task this week is to walk around your home and be a material detective! Challenge yourself to find 10 different everyday objects! (E.g. pencil, saucepan, t-shirt, spoon, clothes peg, teddy bear, cup, plate, toy car)
See if you can work out what the objects are made of (E.g. a pencil is made out of wood, a saucepan is made out of metal).
Show Mum, Dad or a sibling an object and see if they can tell you what its made from!
Click on the link provided to listen to a song all about materials objects are made of. Enjoy!
Print out the template provided and draw some of the objects you found that are made of wood, glass, plastic and metal.
You can ask Mum and Dad to take some photos of your everyday objects you found and your template with your drawings and email them to sluke@hccs.sa.edu.au. Or you can bring them in when you return to school.
I would love to see how you go with your Week 1 task! Have fun...
