We trust that the following links and ideas provide you with plenty of ideas of how to keep the kids engaged and maintain positive wellbeing. Our most important message to all our awesome HILLS families - find ways to Stay Connected with friends, your family, and your neighbours.
We love the description contained within the introduction of this website...
"When it rains, play in the rain." There are ways of making the best out of any situation, this one included. We have a unique opportunity here: We can make the COVID-19 crisis into a moment that will live vividly in our kids' memories, so that in other times of uncertainty they'll recall fondly how their family pulled together and made the best of things, and they'll be able to do the same."
There are so many creative and fun ideas on this website. Some of our favourites include:
getting CRAFTY
playing CARD GAMES together as a family (a great activity to do together and develop those essential, but difficult, skills of taking turns, losing, celebrating with others)
VIRTUAL TOURS - show kids where you grew up, tours of museums, zoos etc
VIRTUAL EVENTS
start your FAMILY HISTORY
create a FAMILY TIME CAPSULE
CHALK DRAW your driveway.
It's different and may seem a little bit strange, but allowing your child to access a device and interact with their friends and family members is an amazing way to develop creativity and social connection.
We love the idea of the fashion parade and dance-offs with Grandparents!
This video makes us laugh. Yours doesn't have to be as professionally produced as this, but it is amazing what the kids can make using an iPad with the right apps (e.g. iMovie)
Don't have an Apple device? This Google extension may be helpful

Just a few snaps of backyard activities.
Why not take a photo of your family activities and post it to the Hills Connect Facebook page (link below). Let's share the joy that we find during this time.
